Somewhere nobody knows about
This weekend some of us from the Loop Army went to a place that many people don’t know about and very few people fish. Most fly-fishermen want to find places that not many people know about, places that are relitively untouched and that they can have to themselves. But if you don’t know about these places, how can you find them?

One thing that we have started looking into and using more often is Google Maps. In dry climates, you can pull up the maps of the area and look for green spots that look like creek beds. This is also a good technique if you want to find mountain lakes to hike to, where you might find the rare golden trout. But some of the best fishing I’ve ever done, is because I decided to go somewhere I haven’t been before or ever heard of.

Obviously you are taking a risk when you decide to go to a place that you don’t know anything about, it might not be a very good fishery, it might not have any trout at all. But in my experience it is normally worth the trip off the beaten path to try to find someplace that seems untouched by the human hand.

I have another secret spot we need to hit. Just scouted it yesterday all I want to say is BROWNS
how come anothony is the only one with a fish?
He’s the only one that caught a “pic worthy” fish. Oh… and Tom fumbles all his fish.
